Kalamazoo Candle Company – Repurposing Candle Tins

I’ve had a passion for organization ever since I can remember. Taking care of the things that I own, and making them look pretty, has always given me a great sense of pride. There is nothing like putting time & effort into a home project, only to be left with a beautiful transformation; it seriously gives me all of the happy feels. I like to keep things simple and stick to a budget, oftentimes repurposing items that I already have in my home.

I absolutely love Kalamazoo Candle Company. They are a local company with a shop right in downtown Kalamazoo, and it has been so fun to see the business grow over the years. Their products can also be found in boutiques and stores all over the country. You can visit www.kalamazoocandle.com and click on the “Locations” tab to see if there is a store near you, or to shop directly from their website, which is very user-friendly.

I love shopping local, especially when I am shopping for gifts. I usually buy the 10 oz jar candles or the 6.5 oz tins candles and gift them in one of the darling gift bags that are available right on the “Kalamazoo Candle Company” website. I am OBSESSED with the packaging, it’s so rustic and on trend! My favorite gift bag is “A Gift To You From Kalamazoo”. I mean, how cute is that??!

Some of my favorite fragrances are “Baked Cinnamon”, “I’ve Got A Gal”, “Lemongrass”, “Obsidian”, “Smitten”, and “White Tea & Ginger”. When all of the scent eventually wears away, I can repurpose the tins in all of my organizing projects. Say what?? If this is a dream, don’t wake me up. 😉

In the past, I bought my fair share of wax melts from Kalamazoo Candle Company. They are no longer available, but if you have glass jars or larger tins, you get could creative and repurpose those. Back to my wax melt tins…. since I had quite a few wax melt tins laying around, I used them to organize all of my flower seeds. When I am gardening, I have found this way to be so much easier than fumbling with the envelopes the seeds are sold in. I used the front of the seed packaging to cut out a circle to line all of my tins with. I thought this was a unique and fun way to label the tins. So cute, don’t you think??! My kids are obsessed with their outdoor fort, and we have planted some flowers all around to spruce it up. Projects don’t have to cost a lot of money to make a big impact. I reused wax melt tins for the seed organization. I found the seeds at “Dollar Tree” for 25 cents an envelope. The watering can, gardening gloves, and hand rake are also from “Dollar Tree”. They were $1.00 each. I found the “Do Not Disturb” Sun Hat in the “Target” Dollar Spot for $5.00. This entire project only cost $11.00, and it will provide beauty and lots of happy memories with my children. I don’t think it gets much better than that!

Have you repurposed any items in your home? I’d love to hear what you did!
