{Crafting with Kids} Fall Leaf Wreaths

I LOVE Fall. It’s crazy, because I LOVE summer too, but after a few months of summer sun and a super busy schedule, I long for fall. It feels laid back to me. I love the crisp air, changing leaves, cozy sweatshirts, boots, scarves, cider, pumpkins and campfires. I feel blessed to be able to experience the changing seasons; I really do appreciate them.

Our leaves are falling in Michigan and my children and I spent the day enjoying the fall sunshine. We gathered leaves and tumbleweeds and brought a little bit of “Fall” into our home. We made leaf wreaths today and I see many more in our future. We made them last year for the first time and it is going to become a tradition in our home. They are so simple and easy to do and will create so many special memories.

Here is what you will need:

Paper Plate
Scissors
Glue Stick
Twine, Ribbon or Jute
Leaf Collection

Begin Creating:
1.) Spend time outside with your children, enjoying the crisp air and changing leaves. So beautiful!
2.) Have your kids gather as many leaves as their hearts desire, just make sure they are not crunchy.
3.) Poke a hole in the middle of a paper plate and remove the inside circle with a pair of scissors.
4.) Using a glue stick, have your children decorate the paper plate wreath form with their leaf collection.
5.) Embellish the wreath with a wreath hanger (you can use twine, ribbon or jute).
6.) Watch your children’s eyes light up as you decorate your home with their creations that were made with so much love.
